About Vine & Vessel
The origin of Vine & Vessel
In a world that rarely makes sense, plants have always made sense to me. As an autistic adult, I have found solace in the natural world in a way that little else provides.. in the quiet intelligence of roots, the patience of growth, the ancient rhythms of nature, animals, and the living earth. Vine & Vessel was born from that devotion.
Birmingham city centre is many things, but it is not a place abundant with green. No proper nurseries. No same-day sanctuary for those who seek something rare or exotic. I built Vine & Vessel to fill that void; a place where the unusual is within reach, where collection is possible the same day, and where plants are treated with the reverence they deserve.
Seeds, pollinators & the fight for nature
We carry more than houseplants. Our seeds and bee bombs exist for a reason that runs deeper than commerce. The fate of seeds, what is permitted to be grown, sold, and saved is increasingly subject to forces beyond our control. We believe access to seeds is a right worth defending. To grow your own food is to reclaim something ancient and essential.
Our pollinators, too, are under siege. The humble bee, the moth, the butterfly. Creatures that hold entire ecosystems together are disappearing, their wings losing colour and their honey lacking nutrients it once had. A window box of wildflowers, a bee bomb scattered in a forgotten corner, a balcony given over to something that blooms, these are small acts of resistance. We want to help you make them.
What we stand for
We are here to educate, to inspire, and to remind people that nature is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Every plant rehomed, every seed sown, every flower left for the bees is a thread in a larger web that sustains us all.
Vine & Vessel is an independent venture, tended with care and conviction. We are glad you have found your way here.
